Welcome to Conquest of Grace
For although we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh, since the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but are powerful through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 CSB)
I created the Conquest of Grace publication to fulfill the Christian imperative of engaging in the spiritual conflicts of the present era. In contemporary Western society, Christianity is in retreat. It has been retreating for decades.
This publication is for those who are interested in fighting back. We live in a golden age of Christian apologetics. Never before has there been more material validating the truth of Christianity. Yet, churches in our society compromise on biblical truth regularly; counterfeit pseudo-Christianities run rampant, and the “conservative” movement is disintegrating. American Evangelicalism is rotting from the inside out at the same time that our public institutions are decaying.
Conquest of Grace aims to provide material and training for faithful Christians to fight the spiritual battles of our age. However, in a manner distinctly different from the standard approach you might otherwise see. Because that isn’t working. Christianity in America is on the decline, a consequence of misplaced priorities among its followers. Blinded by bad theology, false narratives, syncretism, and compromise.
God promises that the “gates of Hades” will not prevail over the Church. The decline we see in our society is not the result of the enemies of Christ having great cunning and might. It comes from Christians who built their house upon the sand instead of building on the rock of God’s Word. Grace is a conquering force that overcomes all obstacles. God’s Word is an invincible fortress and an unstoppable weapon all at once.
Christians need to stop pretending that the enemies of Christianity have the upper hand. Evil is in a desperate, losing battle. Compromise only ever leads to long-term loss. It never advances the kingdom.
The one who conquers and who keeps my works to the end: I will give him authority over the nations (Revelation 2:26 CSB)
This publication is for those looking for something different. It is for those tired of:
Compromise in our churches and the scandalous, unqualified teachers behind them
Unbiblical, superstitious, and syncretistic teachings in our institutions
Ineffectual and complacent responses to Neo-paganism and Humanism in our culture
The failure to confront the rot within the so-called “conservative” movement
The Conquest of Grace is a publication designed for those of you who wish to advance the kingdom of Christ, to build their lives on the rock of the Christian worldview and the Christian religion, and to “demolish arguments and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God.”
What, pray tell, does this entail? For that, I explain in greater detail my approach, my topics of focus, and where I stand theologically, here:
Who Am I?
My name is Stephen.
I am an autodidact, a husband, and a father of two (for now!). With extensive expertise in Christian apologetics, theology, and philosophy. I have spent much of my life wrestling with the big questions of life, fervently pursuing truth. Propelled by trials and loss throughout my upbringing. By God’s grace, he led me into faith early in my life. However, it was only after many mistakes and wrong turns that he brought me into the family I have now.
Grace is the only reason I made it here, and grace was the only thing that got me through the failures in my life. In Romans, Paul asks the rhetorical question, “Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?” (Romans 8:35 CSB). After dealing with the consequences of a failed first marriage, losing loved ones, including nearly losing my firstborn son, I understand just how important the answer to Paul’s question is. He states clearly, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37 CSB).
Writing, apologetics, and working towards building the Kingdom is a lifelong pursuit of mine, but it was the duties of a husband and father that have truly taught me the importance of legacy. Legacy comes from using your talents faithfully and dutifully. Knowledge for its own sake is not that valuable. Using your knowledge to advance the kingdom and serve others is a lesson that God has taught me through many trials and opportunities. Through Paul, God tells us we are more than conquerors. This is not an idle boast. It is the truth I live by and the motivation behind my work.
